    The 10 best skincare hacks?

    1. Cleanse the face with a Ph balanced cleanser no more than twice a day.

    2. Get enough good quality sleep, ie one should feel rested and fresh when they wake up in the morning. In most adults about 6 – 8 hours of sleep is considered normal.

    3. Avoid polluted environments, and DO NOT SMOKE or be in the company of smokers.

    4. Increase the consumption of green leafy vegetables, colored vegetables, and other antioxidant foods.

    5. Regular exercise.

    6. Drink plenty of water.

    7. Eat food items with healthy fats, like fatty fish, avocado, or nuts like walnuts, almonds.

    8. Regular use of sunscreen of SPF 30 or more.

    9. Taking supplemental Vitamin C up to 1 gram daily.

    10. Taking supplemental Vitamin D3 up to 800 – 100 IU/day.

     

    What can I do for dry skin?

    While there are many medical conditions in which a patient can have extremely dry skin, in most instances the causes of dry skin are aging, or external factors like taking long hot showers, over-cleansing or exfoliating, and extremely hot, cold and dry environments.

    For skin dryness not related to specific medical conditions, simple remedies like avoiding long hot showers, using soap-free pH balanced cleansers instead of alkaline soap cleansers will help reduce skin dryness.

    Any good moisturizer, especially one with Ceramides, will help if applied immediately after washing while the skin is still a little damp.
