Visa Travel Stay
Indian Medical Visa
Mumbai, has some of the best healthcare facilities in India. While almost all of the medical staff speak English as their second language, a lot of the doctors have also had training abroad in the UK or US, making them truly world-class.
This expertise, along with the low costs of healthcare, has made Mumbai a magnet for medical tourism.
The Indian government issues Medical Visas for citizens of other countries to avail medical treatments in India.
One of the requirements of the Medical Visa is that The Government approves the hospital or day surgery facility where you will be operated on of India.
An advantage of the Medical Visa is that up to 2 blood relatives can accompany you on a Medical Attendant Visa, which has the same validity as the patients’ medical visa.
On a Medical Visa, you can stay for up to 60 days from the first date of entry into India, and it also allows you up to 3 entries into India.
Please note that the validity of the visa begins from the date of issue by the High Commission of India and not from the date of travel on your application form.
What is required?
On average it should take 1 – 2 weeks for a Medical Visa to be issued, but this is entirely the sole discretion of the High Commission of India and its Consulates. Hence it is better to confirm your travel plans only after obtaining the visa.
Cost of Medical Visa
This can vary on the basis of the country you are travelling from. The cost of a medical visa that is valid for 1 year with a Double Entry will cost you in the region of £105.
Please bear in mind that the validity of the visa starts from the date it is issued and not from when you are planning to travel.
We are ready to treat you.
